History
Domaine de la Vougeraie is renowned for its biodynamic approach and artisanal winemaking. Clos du Prieuré, a monopole of the domaine, is a historic vineyard located at the foot of Château de Vougeot, characterized by limestone soils and an ideal microclimate. The domaine’s philosophy is to maximize terroir expression through environmentally friendly practices.

- 100% Pinot Noir.
Production method
- Harvest: Handpicked, with rigorous selection of the best grapes.
- Vinification: Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in wooden vats, followed by gentle maceration to preserve elegance and finesse.
- Aging: Aged for 16-18 months in French oak barrels (30% new wood), followed by bottle aging before release.

Tasting notes
- Color: Deep ruby red with garnet highlights.
- Aroma: Complex aromas of fresh red fruits like cherry and raspberry, enriched with notes of spices, underbrush, and a hint of leather and toasted wood.
- Taste: Elegant and harmonious, with velvety tannins, pleasant acidity, and a long, mineral finish.
Possible pairings
Perfect with red meats, game, stews, and aged cheeses. Also excellent with mushroom and truffle-based dishes.
