History
Marc and Manuel Giro are two Spaniards who have been making gin for generations. Thanks to the collaboration with the Global Premium Brands, they started producing the gin mare. The gin is distilled discontinuously and the botanicals, 8 in total, are macerated separately; it will then be the skill of the master blender to balance the distillates obtained. The botanicals used are all herbs and aromas that are selected in countries bordering the Mediterranean: basil from Italy, citrus fruits and olives from Spain, rosemary from Tunisia, thyme from Greece.
Production method
To produce gin it is necessary to “aromatize” an alcoholic base with some elements of which one of the components or often the main one is juniper. This can happen in various ways: either through maceration of the botanicals in alcohol, which is then redistilled to find a colorless and “cleaner” product, or the botanicals can be placed in a container placed above the alembic, so that alcohol in the form of vapor extracts aromas and perfumes.
