History
The Taittinger maison was born in 1743, becoming one of the most important companies in the sector with the union of Forest-Forneaux. In 1932 it was acquired by Pierre-Charles Taittinger, who introduced the use of Chardonnay in blends and in 1952 produced the first cuvée de Prestige of Reims, the “Comtes de Champagne”. Today the company is led by Pierre-Emanuel Taittinger, a direct descendant of Pierre-Charles and owns around 288 hectares of land.

Production method
It is produced according to the so-called methode champenoise or classic method, a method in which the wine substantially undergoes two different fermentations: the first, the alcoholic one (which it shares with the rest of the wines) takes place in vats for fermentation; the second instead takes place directly in the bottle and ensures that during this second procedure, thanks to particular yeasts, the wine also develops carbon dioxide (which will then give life to the famous bubbles when uncorked).

Tasting notes
It is presented in the glass with a golden straw yellow color, with a fine and persistent perlage, very elegant. On the nose, the wine has hints of ripe peach and candied citrus fruits, dried yellow flowers and notes of yeast, melted butter, hazelnuts and toasted almonds, sweet tobacco, dry pastries. Powerful but balanced in the mouth, ripe but also fresh and mineral, very long and persistent finish. You wish it would never end.
Possible combinations
Ideal as a meditation wine and bottle for special occasions. Recommended for gourmets, collectors and lovers of exclusive and unmissable goodies.
