Description
History
The company of Milena and Aldo Vaira is located in the hamlet of Vergne in Barolo, where the vineyards are located at a high altitude, and thanks to this the Nebbiolo and other native vines can ripen more slowly, giving life to wines with special characteristics , fresh aromas, balanced acidity and juicy fruit. The company, founded in the 70s, covers 40 hectares and produces various types of wine, including Barolo “Bricco delle Viole”, Barbera Superiore, Barolo “Albe”, Dolcetto Coste&Fossati, Freisa Kyè, Langhe Bianco and others , trying to enhance the peculiarities of the Vergne area in each wine produced.

Production method
Slow alcoholic fermentation in oak vats with 40-day maceration, the refinement is 48 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.

Tasting notes
Garnet red color with ruby reflections. On the nose hints of small red fruits such as raspberries and cherries, dried roses, mineral and balsamic notes, closing with evolved tertiary notes of leather and oriental spices. In the mouth it is robust, full, but at the same time elegant and with dense tannins, fresh and salty.
Possible combinations
It can be combined with savory first courses seasoned with ragù or wild boar ragù, roasted and grilled red meat, red meat and medium-aged cheeses.
