Description
History
Samalens is a Maison d’Armagnac founded in 1882, located in the heart of the vineyards of the grand crus of Bas Armagnac. The family follows all the production processes and matures the spirits in French Armagnac barrels to preserve the aromas. The Armagnacs are then placed in used barrels to slowly mature until the final blend. The distillery, built in 1973, is one of the most important in the region.
Production method
Armagnac is made from black grapes harvested in the Armagnac region of France. After the fermentation of the must, a wine is obtained which is distilled in copper stills. The brandy is then aged in French oak barrels for at least a year, but usually for decades.

Tasting notes
An Armagnac of medium complexity, it has notes of dried fruit, vanilla and spices. The taste is soft and velvety with a perfect balance between sweetness and lightness. The finish is long and persistent with a slight sensation of warmth. A perfect balance between intensity and harmony.
