Description
History
The Monte dei Ragni company originates on the land owned by the Ragno family, taking its name from the hill on which it is located. One of the main protagonists of the company was Santo Ragno, who since the early 1900s understood the importance of grapes for the region and increasingly oriented agricultural activity towards this crop. During the first half of the last century, the company expanded with the acquisition of land in the Mazzurega area, slightly to the north, where vineyards, cherry trees and olive trees were immediately planted. The cultivation of vines and the production of wine, which best expresses the characteristics of this foothill terroir, have very ancient roots here.
Production method
Amarone is usually made using Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes which are left to dry for a period of 3-4 months before being fermented. Subsequently the wine is matured in wooden barrels for at least two years, giving rise to a robust, dense wine characterized by fruity and spicy notes.
